New challenges

Beyond development

An energy project does not end with the choice of a technology or the granting of a permit. Bringing it to life means connecting generation, infrastructure, energy uses and plant construction.

Nazca Italia sees two possible directions for its work and is open to exploring new opportunities: integrating hydrogen into energy projects and coordinating the construction phase. They are different fields, linked by the same need to connect expertise, decisions and people throughout a project’s journey.

Hydrogen

We have been following the development of hydrogen, the technologies used to produce it and the conditions needed for practical applications. Our interest begins where renewable generation meets electrolysers: a configuration that calls for energy supply, production, infrastructure and potential users to be planned together.

Hydrogen may create opportunities for certain industrial uses, energy storage and activities that are difficult to electrify directly. We are also following its potential uses in mobility, recognising that the pace and shape of adoption will depend on technology, infrastructure and demand.

For Nazca, this field offers the possibility of contributing to projects in which several technologies must operate as one system. Such initiatives may involve renewable generation, electrolysers, infrastructure and end users on a scale that goes beyond a single plant. We are open to exploring opportunities in this value chain, bringing our experience in energy project development and a method grounded in the real conditions of each project.

From development to construction

In recent years, many renewable energy projects have spent a long time in environmental assessment procedures at Italy’s Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE). The scale of this backlog is tangible: as of 26 February 2026, the PNRR-PNIEC Commission had 1,747 environmental impact assessment procedures in progress. As these procedures advance, some initiatives that obtain the necessary permits may move into construction. Nazca sees this as a reason to prepare for the coordination work that the construction phase will require.Source: MASE data as of 26 February 2026, Italian Chamber of Deputies

The Nazca team draws on direct experience in the construction of photovoltaic and agrivoltaic plants in Italy. This experience leads us to consider opportunities that call for connecting design with site activities, planning the work, bringing the specialists involved together and keeping the works aligned with the approved project.

We are open to discussing initiatives with investors and partners where this expertise could be useful. The aim would be to contribute to construction coordination with direct knowledge of site work and the entire development process, without acting as the construction contractor.
